Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, already a fan favorite in Disneyland, is finally in Disney World! The eagerly awaited food stand opened on August 23, 2024 at Disney’s Boardwalk and boasts a menu of hand-dipped corn dogs, cotton candy, and fruit flavored lemonades. We finally have the famous Pickle Dog in Florida! This is a big “dill”, ya’ll!!
We were so excited to get our hands on that hand-dipped goodness! We opted for the Pickle dog, the Mexican Street Dog, and a Strawberry Lemonade:
The Pickle Dog ($15.50) is a beef hot dog stuffed into a pickle, dipped in cornmeal batter, coated in panko breadcrumbs, and fried until golden brown. It’s served with a side of peanut butter for dipping! This was all we wanted it to be and more. So weird, but it works! Even without the peanut butter, the crispy cornbread exterior with a bit of fresh, juicy pickle and salty hot dog, made for an extremely satisfying bite. Then we tried a bite with peanut butter, and it was like time stood still. Suffice it to say, we loved it. We might even call it life-changing because now we’re at home dreaming of eating pickles dipped in peanut butter like it’s always been a thing. NOW it’s a thing. The odd combo might not be for everyone, but it should be experienced at least once. Definitely try this one.
The Mexican Street Dog ($15.50) is jalapeno cheddar sausage, hand-dipped in cornmeal batter, fried until golden, and topped with garlic mayo, corn, cotija cheese, and cilantro. It’s served with a lime wedge. They had us at “jalapeno cheddar sausage”. Wow. We didn’t think any other corn dog could top the Pickle Dog, but this one is a contender! It’s a flavor explosion, heavy on the garlic, with a tart hint of lime, and the spicy kick of jalapeno sausage. (We’re not talking fire alarm spicy, but it’s spicy for Disney food.)
Honestly, we had a hard time deciding which corn dog was better, but we’re giving the edge to the Pickle Dog. It made time stand still for goodness’ sake! So it’s top dog for us.
We also tried the Strawberry Lemonade. While it was refreshing and flavorful, it was pretty much just your standard strawberry lemonade. Though we will note that we didn’t try a more adventurous flavor like the Raspberry Apricot. The real stand out was the corn dogs. They easily stole the show and deserve all the blue ribbons.
We can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Pineapple Cotton candy, we’ve got our eye on you!
