We woke up this morning to see the high temperatures were predicted to be in the low 70’s. After months of extreme heat, it felt like the perfect day to visit Disney World. We booked a reservation for Magic Kingdom and almost missed the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before setting off.
Our first clue that we weren’t alone in this idea was the long line at the parking entrance—a sight we hadn’t seen on a non-holiday weekday since before the pandemic. The second clue came from Disney CMs parking two sections of the lot at once. The third clue was the tram line. After one tram filled up, there were still more than enough guests left for another.
We decided to walk to the TTC… and just keep on walking once we saw that all four security gates were open, and each one had a full line. We anticipated another long line for the monorail or ferry, so we opted to walk to the Polynesian Resort. After a brief stop at Joffrey’s, we took the resort monorail to the Grand Floridian, then walked to the Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom was surprisingly packed for this time of year. Most attractions had longer lines than we’ve seen on a weekday in a while. We managed to catch a showing of Country Bears after sharing a table with strangers at Pinocchio Village Haus due to the crowd. By that time, we’d had enough, so we grabbed a not-so-quick coffee at Starbucks on Main Street before walking back to the car and heading home.
Despite the crowds, we consider the day a success. The weather was perfect, and the crowd’s excitement was contagious. Overall, not too bad. We’d do it again.
