We Jotters have a sweet tooth! After savoring some delicious grilled meats from Bramblewood Bites during our Epcot visit, we decided to indulge in some desserts. Our first stop was the Hawai’i booth near the Port of Entry, where we shared the passion fruit cheesecake. As if that wasn’t enough, we snuck over to Milled & Mulled at the entrance to the World Showcase to try the boursin fig and balsamic cheesecake and the pear and almond frangipane pâte brisée.
Passion Fruit Cheesecake
This dessert was a true standout! The cheesecake was topped with passion fruit purée and roasted macadamia chunks. We loved the creamy texture, which was smooth yet dense, and the mild flavor. The passion fruit topping, though a bit runny, was delicious and perfectly offset the tanginess of the cheesecake. We highly recommend this one!
Fig Cheesecake
The fig cheesecake was another hit! Imagine a juicy fig newton in cheesecake form in the best possible way. It was creamy, luscious, and sweet, with a hint of savory from the balsamic. The sliced figs were a nice, fresh touch. lf you love figs, this is a must-try. It was Mrs. Jotter’s favorite of the day.
Pear and Almond Frangipane
The frangipane was decent but not our favorite. We enjoyed the sweet and pleasant pear and almond custard filling, but the pastry shell was drier than we expected, more like a puff pastry than a tart crust. The almond slivers and raspberry dusting on top were a surprise, as they weren’t mentioned in the description or shown in the menu photos. Despite this, they added a nice touch to the flavor.
These desserts were a nice way to cap off our day at Epcot. The cheesecake options also qualified for passport stamps as part of Emile’s Fromage Montage. Collect all five stamps, and you get a festival treat for free. We’re excited to find out what this year’s treat is—no spoilers, please!
