Lobster and Shrimp at Epcot: Worth the Price?

Another day, another Epcot festival meal. We’re really starting to look forward to these trips because the food at this year’s International Food an Wine festival have surprised us in a good way.

Today, we were tempted by the seafood offerings at Coast Eats. This festival quick service kiosk, located just outside of Creations Shop, has been a favorite of ours in the past. This year, they have two food options on the menu, and of course, we had to try both!

First up, the roasted warm water lobster tail served with garlic butter. The lobster was tasty, but a bit on the rubbery side. The garlic butter definitely helped elevate the flavor. Next, we tried the jumbo shrimp cocktail served chilled with cocktail sauce. Unfortunately, the shrimp was a little soggy, as if it had been frozen and then quickly thawed. The tangy cocktail sauce did its best to save the dish, but it was pretty standard fare.

Looks like our home run streak ran out today. After many delicious festival feasts, we found both of these seafood servings to be just okay. The lobster was the better of the two, thanks to the garlic butter, but neither dish stood out enough to justify the $13 price tag.

If you’re looking to make the most of your festival dollars, we recommend trying one of the other booths. Our top picks? We suggest the Steakhouse Blended Burger at the Flavors from Fire kiosk near the entrance to the World Showcase, any of the hotdogs at the America Pavilion, and the Grilled Bison at Bramblewood Bites between Journey with Figment and the World Showcase.

Happy eating!
